In this personal update I discuss:
- Ufi’s adjusting to steroids
- My recovering from illness
- The best book I have recently read
- Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation process
- An important anniversary
As I have been discussing, Ufi is back on steroids to try and help control his allergies. Specifically, he is on a medicine called Temaril-P. Even though I’m not wild about having him on steroids because of the potential long-term damage they can do to organs, I have to admit the medicine is helping him a lot.
For the last few days, he has been far more active and playful than he has been in months. Mom and I have regularly commented he is the old Ufi again. He is almost always wanting to play fetch. He is enjoying chasing Scorpio again.
As I wrote in my previous personal update, I have been battling a bad illness. It has been a very long time since I have been as sick as I was a few days ago. I’m not a hundred percent yet, but I’m better than I have been.
While feeling too sick to do much, I spent even more time reading this week than I usually do. That, of course, is saying something. The best book I read during my illness was Tess Gerritsen’s Vanished.
Political animals, like me, have been glued to the circumstances around Christine Blasey Ford alleging Brett Kavanaugh attempted to rape her when they were teenagers. Personally, I believe Dr. Ford and I strongly oppose Kavanaugh’s confirmation. In two separate posts I covered ideas for how Dr. Ford and Kavanaugh could react.
I’m writing this post on September 23, 2018. On September 23, 2016, we closed on the house. Two years ago today was an incredibly important and wonderful day. Living in what has become The Oasis, has truly been life changing.
That’s what I have for this update. I hope all of you are well. Thank you for reading.
