The Place of Guns In America

In episode 002 of Jonathan’s Verdicts, I demonstrate why America needs a complete gun ban.

I acknowledge that until I began researching the affect guns are having on society, I believed a ban on assault weapons would be sufficient. I then go through all the evidence that changed my mind.

Here’s the article from Politifact that demonstrates more Americans have been killed by guns since 1968 than have died in war.

This article from Politifact shows that way more Americans die from gunshots than die in acts of domestic terror.

My post called Gun Deaths in America details the number of people who died from gunshot wounds in 2014.

In Mass Shootings in America, I discuss the number of mass shootings that have taken place in America.

The post Mass Shootings Around the World compares the number of mass shootings in America with the number of mass shootings in other nations.

The Gun Owners of America have a factsheet discussing lives saved by guns.

The Daily Caller News Foundation also made the case that guns save lives.

  1. Given that America is not the only country in which guns are legal, why is it that gun crime is so much more of a problem here.

    1. Hi Jessie,

America has more lax gun laws than any other Western nation. Other Western countries have some guns, but America has more guns than any other country.

I'd love to hear from you.
